November was an homage to a form of writing I haven't been able to do in a while – narrative. I work all day as a copywriter, writing search term-heavy e-commerce language to drive up sales then I come home to write for this blog about media or my life. Still, nothing compares to the complexities of writing a traditional narrative. I participated in my version of the November writing challenge.
My story follows Denise, a struggling freelance writer who stumbles upon a newspaper ad to ghostwrite a book for a grandma with a secret life. She soon finds herself involved in a plot filled with a mysterious death, a thieving heiress, and a family conspiracy. The story is entitled Absent Murder Chaser.
This month, I also celebrated my four-year anniversary with my boyfriend. We made-at-home versions of an expensive restaurant dinner featuring wagyu beef and chocolate soufflé. I remembered how far we'd come as a couple by reminiscing about our funny first date.
I reviewed the Band of Brothers in honor of Veterans Day. It took me months to watch the show, but it was worth it. My featured artist this month was Passaic native rapper, Kiamo. He blessed the music world with his inspirational and catchy new album, The American Dream 3. November ended with some Thanksgiving chaos, where George and I worked hilariously hard to make our dinner contributions.
