February 2022 Rewind

Updated: May 27, 2022

Did you miss any of my blog posts this month? Don’t worry I’m always here to keep you caught up!

This month I celebrated Black History Month with a trilogy of posts. I discussed classic people in black history, Chadwick Boseman, and highlighted black representation in media. On Valentine’s Day, I reminisced about meeting my boyfriend. I thought about marriage and boundaries. I even theorized about the disappearance of commercials. Keep reading to find out more!

Black History Month: Honoring The Classics

There are plenty of people to honor during Black History Month, but there are some whom everyone should know.

Remembering Chadwick Boseman

When I first saw Chadwick Boseman, he played James Brown in "Get On Up." I didn't know who he was. I thought he was just another obscure actor who happened to look most like the historical figure. I never thought I would see his face again.

Black History Month: Highlighting Black Representation

I am always pro representation. To end my Black History Month trilogy, I want to highlight some TV shows and movies with strong black representation.

How I Met My Boyfriend

The short answer: In high school. The long answer is a whole cheesy rom-com style story, but it's much more enjoyable.

When Considering Marriage and Children

Let's be clear, I have no intention of getting married or having kids anytime soon. Yet, people feel it's okay to bring up this topic fairly often, and I'm tired of the same conversation.

Establishing Healthy Boundaries

Sometimes creating boundaries and claiming your autonomy is scary and difficult, especially when others struggle to respect your decisions.

The Art of Commercials

A lot of people don't appreciate the art that is commercials. Commercials are comparable to the pests of the media world.

Now that you’re all caught up be sure to stay tuned to keep up with more discussions with me, Damaris!
